met with the boss this week. they are concerned that i’m not spending enough time on “work”. which may be true. i have a definite lack of focus these days (hm, could be due to something called “meetup”?) and not a lot of help. so now i need to get some help. dang. time to get up in front of everyone at mass and speak. gulp. think i’ll get the kids to help me.
the other bad news from friday’s meeting is that they want me to be around saturdays. bummmmer. also i requested time off for Costa Rica. fortunately, even though i waited so long, i got it (note to self: put in the request before making plane reservations and
but hmm…he said i only had a week my first year. not true, i looked in my contract; i get 10 days. to do the math: i requested from the 16th to the 23rd, which is actually 8 days. but two of those days i would get off anyway, not that i’ve chosen anything so set in stone, but still that leaves 6 days. then monday happens to be president’s day, which (i think) is one of the paid holidays we get off (according to my contract, i get 13). so technically i am only taking off 5 days. have to look into the prez day thing, but i am pretty sure i’m right.
now, i just have to get up the nerve to tell him….
unfortunately, this saturday thing means i’m going to have to miss out on the Ricketts Glen trip at the end of the month. Dang. i was looking forward to it too! but if i miss that, i’m definitely going away for Memorial Day.
No fair. i really have to find another job… :/ shame, i’m really getting into this one. the kids are fun and its not bad. except for the hours & days…and my coworkers….blah.
